Luckily Suffern and Cold Spring have new health food stores.

For many years a hike starting in Sloatsberg began with a
trip to the "Ramapo Health Food Store. Now as many of us get older and somewhat
better off financially we forget the simple things. Small Town America is passing away and
that is ashame. Going to this store was a passage back into the 60's. The first thing you
felt as you entered the store was the smell of incense and health food spices. The store
sold hiking maps and books. Plus a very large collection of Meditation Books and items.
The owners were nice people and always made their customers feel welcome. That is all gone
now as a fire destroyed the store. There is now an empty lot and an empty spot in our
souls. We miss you guys. COME BACK!!!! Be a phoenix. After the store burned many people
left their names and messages on the front door of the shop. THIS WAS THE HOME OF THE
WORLD FAMOUS -->"SLOATSBURGER".This store repesented small town America. This
webmaster wishs it would return!!!! Luckily Suffern and Cold Spring have new health food stores. |
