Well we got your attention didn't we? Actually what you are about to see is probably a fake BUT it has been around as long as I can remember. They are located on a boulder at Claudius Smith's Den in Harriman State Park by the junction of the TMI and Blue Dot Trails. There is a second boulder within five minutes of this that I saw several years ago but could not retrace my steps. I first saw these glyphs on a night hike almost twenty years ago. Are these writings made from poweded iron and/or are they a cryptic map to the LOST TREASURE of Claudius Smith? In the last few years some rocks have had graffiti put on them but these are decades (at least) older. Nor have they shown any sign of wearing away. If they are fake the authors went to great lengths to make them. They are now a part of the lore of Harriman State Park.

Let us know and we will post your responses. Send responses to the Club Webmaster
